OUR STORY

Maranatha Care Initiative was formally established in 2011, but its roots go back much further.

Our founder spent years quietly caring for vulnerable and abandoned children in her community—not as a program, but as a personal act of faith and love. Two of those children entered her home as a young woman.

They were still with her when she got married. And today, as grown men with families of their own, they are proof that love, consistently given, changes everything.

The decision to formalize the organisation came after years of felt urgency—a sense that what she was doing in one home needed to reach more children.

In 2011, the Maranatha Care Initiative was established with a clear mandate: protect, nurture, educate, and empower Nigeria's most vulnerable children.

For over 15 years, this home has operated without government funding. It has been sustained by the faithfulness of God, the sacrifice of its founder, and the generosity of individuals who believe in the mission.

Every child who has passed through these doors has been given something no government programme can manufacture — a family.

WHY CHOOSE US

Our Core Values

At Maranatha Care Initiative, the way we work is just as important as the work itself. These are not values we hang on a wall—they are the convictions that shape every decision we make, every naira we spend, and every child we serve. They were present before there was an organization, and they will outlast every building we ever construct.

Compassion

  • Every child who comes through our doors carries a story — often a painful one. We meet them with dignity, warmth, and unconditional love. Compassion is not a programme we run; it is the foundation of everything we do

Faith

  • This organisation began in obedience to God's call, and it continues in trust in His provision. We believe that the work of caring for vulnerable children is sacred work — and we approach it with reverence and dependence on divine strength.

Integrity

  • Every naira entrusted to us is treated as sacred. We manage resources with discipline, transparency, and the awareness that donors have placed their confidence in us. We never take that lightly.

Accountability

  • We welcome scrutiny. Our operations are structured to maintain clear records, responsible governance, and open communication with all stakeholders. Trust is earned through consistency — and we are committed to earning it every day.

Excellence

  • Good intentions are not enough. We pursue structured, sustainable, and measurable impact. We constantly evaluate our practices, improve our processes, and hold ourselves to the highest standard in the care of vulnerable children.
Together, we can raise the
generation this world needs.
