It Started With One Woman’s Compassion
Before Maranatha Care Initiative became an organization, it was a calling.
As a young girl, and later as a young woman before marriage, our founder had a deep burden for children who were vulnerable, neglected, sick, or abandoned. She brought children from her community into her care, nurturing them as her own.
When she got married in 1992, two of those children moved into her new home. They were not biologically hers. They were children she simply chose to love and raise. Today, those two children are grown men, married with families of their own.
In 2011, after years of quietly caring for vulnerable children, she felt called to formally establish what had already been living in her heart. Maranatha Care Initiative was born.
For more than 15 years, this home has operated without government funding, sustained by faith, sacrifice, and individuals who believe in the mission.
What began as compassion became a structured home for hope.

What We Do
Shelter & Protection
We provide a secure residential home where children are protected from abuse, neglect, and unsafe environments. Every child lives in a structured, supervised, and nurturing space.
Education & Scholarships
We ensure every child has access to quality education. We cover school enrollment, tuition, academic materials, and provide mentorship to support long-term success.
Health & Nutrition
Children receive proper feeding, medical care, hygiene education, and age-appropriate guidance. Special attention is given to adolescent care, including menstrual health support for the girl child.
Faith & Character Development
We raise children with strong moral foundations, guiding them to grow in faith, confidence, discipline, and responsibility.

What God placed in the hands of one woman has grown. And we believe it will continue to grow—until no vulnerable child in Nigeria lacks a safe, nurturing, faith-filled home.
